A Small Something about Sexual Wellness and “Vitamin O”…Orgasm!
Written by Bodysculpt Team
Vitamin O’ is not only beneficial for sexual wellness, it is likely to have health benefits in many areas. If not directly, then at least indirectly.
When we consider traditional health boosters in the name of “general wellness” there are many widely recommended points of entry: Physical exercise, a plethora of skin serums, solid friendships, a keen mentor, an army of vitamins, and the occasional Brené Brown novel.
Alternatively: there’s ‘vitamin O’—which, among other benefits, is theorized to bolster your immune system. An orgasm at large has medicinal qualities and as we continue to face the subsequent fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic, masturbation, in particular, is of the essence. It is marvelously beneficial in its self-sufficiency (and thus its compliance with quarantine mandates;), it’s easy to fit into your schedule because now you’re only planning around YOU, it’s good for morale (“what up!” to month 31007 of working from home).
That’s before we even get to the vascular and immune-advantages—of which there are many. Let’s start with Hormone Health: You know that sense of release that comes from, well….from coming? You’re exactly right, it’s real! Orgasm is a natural anxiety reducer. That zen feeling we experience comes from a decrease in our cortisol levels.
Cortisol is the hormone most commonly associated with stress. A decrease in cortisol, in turn, can work both as a sleep aid and to ease an overloaded workday. The love hormone oxytocin also increases during orgasm.
Oxytocin may also have benefits as a treatment for many conditions, including depression, anxiety, and intestinal problems. Then that little extra something I personally value, it can add some luster to your face as peripheral vasodilation enhances nutrients for the skin…
Then there’s Sleep: Another thing about the aforementioned stress-reducers: they’re great for sleep. The occasional bedtime orgasm and the calm it produces is excellent for promoting a healthy rest—which, in turn, works wonders to keep your immune system working to its maximum capacity. Heart health: Sexual pleasure is also good for your vascular system.
A healthy orgasm serves to spike both blood pressure and heart rate. Just like any other form of cardio, it releases endorphins, burn calories, and can lower the risk of a heart attack. Keeping your sexual organs healthy is much like going to the gym….it is something that needs regular attention to be sustained.
In other words…regular orgasms keep the blood flowing to your privates and that alone likely serves to produce neuro-vascular patency. Now the currently relevant part, immunity….something at the forefront of conversation during the “Covid years”.
Studies on orgasms from masturbation have shown that active orgasms can increase your white blood cell production, which means, there is a direct correlation between orgasmic activity, and your body’s ability to combat diseases. And, I would say, it is far more pleasurable than popping a handful of vitamins B, C, D and zinc.
While the medical community is only beginning to investigate the value of ramping up the frequency of orgasms as a go to for an immune boost, there are hardly any downsides to adding the occasional ‘vitamin O’ to your daily vitamin regimen…even if you have to do it on your own.
Your body, your mind, and your soul will no doubt thank you for the more restful sleep, the glowing skin, the stress relief and…the pleasure.
