What should we expect from a sexual experience and orgasm throughout our lifetime?

At Sakoon the Spa, we believe that, at any age, being comfortable and confident with one’s sexuality is essential to complete wellness of body, mind, and soul. It is also our experience that anyone can achieve a fulfilling sexual relationship no matter their age or perceived limitations.
At Sakoon, we are all about maximizing your physical condition to promote the most satisfying sexual experience possible for you and your partner.
Sexual encounters don’t always have to end in climax for one or both partners, but that is usually the desired outcome for both. An orgasm generally lasts about 10 seconds or less but tends to take up an abundance of space in our collective consciousness. For good reason.
Psychologically, a sexual experience and subsequent climax translate into a release of happy-making neurotransmitters—dopamine and serotonin, which contribute to our moods, energy level, appetite, and a general sense of well-being. Simply put, it may just be 10 seconds, but it’s a really good 10 seconds.
Not all orgasms are equal: A 2014 study showed that men have a higher rate of orgasm than women, and that doesn’t change with sexual orientation. But who is having the best orgasms?
A 2005 study reported that a small, but not insignificant, 14-percent of women under the age of 35 have never had an orgasm as a result of intercourse (and a considerable 38-percent experienced climax only inconsistently). So it’s not too shocking that, as The Independent shared in 2017, the results of a survey by the app Natural Cycles showed that participants, women ages 36 and older, reported better and more frequent orgasms than they had earlier in life (younger participants not only reported fewer orgasms but also lower sexual frequency).
These findings might not be purely scientific, but they are evidence that getting older can actually result in a better, more fulfilling sex life. “Aging like a fine wine” is right—especially when you pair that wine with some candlelight and a good playlist.😉
For men, however, orgasms become more difficult over time—figuratively, not literally. According to researchers at the University of Chicago, men between the ages of 50 to 59 are over three times as likely to experience erectile dysfunction than those between the ages of 18 and 29.
According to Psychology Today, the more common issue is erectile dissatisfaction: The simple fact that it may take longer, or require a little more effort to achieve an erection, can lead to some mental blocks which may translate into difficulty reaching climax.
Good sex later in life—for both men and women—is hardly out of reach, in spite of physical challenges like decreased libido, menopause, erectile dysfunction or ED. According to a survey by Match.com, women aged 66 and men aged 64 reported having their best sex later in life.
The University of Michigan’s 2018 National Poll on Healthy Aging similarly found that 74-percent of participants aged 65 to 80 consider sex an important part of a romantic relationship at any age. These studies, however, do not define sex as something that necessarily ends in climax, for one or both parties.
We are here to help you maximize your sexual experiences throughout your lifetime. At Sakoon we offer sexual enhancement services for both men and women.
The O-Shot and Mona Lisa are non-surgical modalities for women that enhance neuro-vascular health. These treatments increase the lubrication, sensation, and size of genitalia.
When combined with hormonal balancing, the drive and performance potential are treated in synchrony. These modalities are recommended for women who are postpartum, perimenopausal or simply suffering from poor sexual drive or satisfaction.
For men, Sakoon offers the P-shot combined with low-intensity shock wave therapy designed at increasing the vascularity of the penis to increase firmness, size, and sensation. Combined with testosterone hormone balancing, substantial increases in performance and drive are usually obtained.
